VICTIM ADVOCATE/LEGAL ASSISTANT
Full-time position with the Prosecutor’s Office. $18.85 - $21.03/hour, DOE, plus an exceptional benefits package including: PERSI retirement, excellent medical insurance and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave.
Position is responsible for supplying victim advocacy on juvenile and misdemeanor cases, obtaining all restitution figures and documentation for the juvenile and misdemeanor cases, providing clerical and legal secretarial support on all misdemeanor domestic violence/CPOR cases as is required by the supervising Deputy Prosecutors. Position prepares routine legal documents, orders and correspondence, files, scans, schedules appointments and interviews. Position also provides backup for the Victim-Witness Coordinator as well as other legal assistants as necessary.
Min. Qualifications: High School graduate/equivalent; Associate’s Degree or Certificate in the legal field from an accredited college or vocation school; at least two years’ related work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the work required. Prior experience working with victims is preferred. Must be able to pass a background check. View complete job requirements in the job description linked below.
