APPAISER II

Nez Perce County Assessor’s Office is seeking a full-time Appraiser II. $20.77-$23.09/hour, DOE/DOQ, plus exceptional benefits including: PERSI retirement, excellent medical insurance and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave.

Min. Qualifications: High school graduate/equivalent; considerable knowledge of valuation and appraisal of real and personal property; experience using appraisal software applications; and preferably valid Idaho State Ad Valorem Appraiser Certification. Preferred Qualifications: Five years’ progressive work experience in real estate appraisal and successful completion of the Idaho State Tax Commission Courses I and/or IAAO Courses and USPAP. In the event the Assessor is unable to hire a licensed, experienced Appraiser II, an Appraiser I or Appraiser Trainee may be considered for this vacancy.

PLANNER

Full-time position with the Nez Perce County Planning & Building Dept. Hourly pay offered $25.73-$33.11, DOE/DOQ, plus exceptional benefits including: PERSI retirement, excellent medical/dental/vision insurance and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave. Position is under the general supervision of the Commissioners and works directly with the Building Official. Position researches and analyzes data, writes reports and findings of fact, drafts regulations and plans, and assists the public in understanding and complying with the county’s planning, zoning and floodplain policies and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, or other land use policy field preferred, though not required; four years’ experience in planning or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and work experience which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. HORTICULTURAL ASSOCIATE EDUCATOR
Extension Office

Part-time position (scheduled 24 hours per week), with pro-rated benefits, paid $16.28-$17.71 hour, DOE/DOQ. Position performs a number of horticultural and clerical tasks related to plant diagnostic needs of clientele and the consumer horticulture education needs of regional residents. Position also provides routine receptionist support in the Nez Perce County Extension Office. Min. Qualifications: High school graduated/equivalent; post-secondary horticulture training preferred; significant experience in horticulture, possessing an elementary, or better, understanding of plant pathology, entomology, weed science, plant systems and integrated pest management. Successful hire will be required to attend Master Gardeners training held locally after employment begins.

ON-CALL JUVENILE DETENTION SUPPORT TECHNICIANS

On-call positions available with the NPC Region II Juvenile Detention Center. Positions are paid $13.00/hour with no benefits. Primary responsibilities are to operate the control room and provide technical support. Min. Qualifications: High school graduate/equivalent; at least 21 years of age; two years post high school work experience/educational equivalent; no felony or violent misdemeanor convictions; good physical condition; willingness to work non-traditional hours; and ability to communicate effectively. Successful candidates must also be able to pass a background check.
